I'M FINALLY HERE!!

So today was my first day in DC...it was insane! My flight left super early this morning and I had to take a sweet cab ride to get the house...which is so cool! Its really old, which is fine with me, and is broken down into 4 quads. The boys live downstairs, and the girls are all up on the second and third floors...we each have a living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom for each group of 4...I'm sure I'll have pictures up soon!

Day 1 consisted of lunch at Union Station (which is only like, 5 minutes away from our house)...then we had dinner at this really good restuarant in China Town...oh ps, I LOVE the metro...best thing ever-its so much fun!

So to add on from the first post-a group of us interns just got back from a longgggg hike to the washington memorial (yes, i know its late...) Anyway, it was the first time I'd seen the memorials all lit up and it was amazing...and of course, I left my camera back at the house...I know, right? I also destroyed my feet in the shoes I was wearing...(we werent planning on walking 3 miles this evening, so I did not plan accordingly)...I def. learned my lesson!

But yeah, today was really fun...so far, so good!! Miss you all!

Tomorrow

So this blog is basically one big countdown...BUT tomorrow is the big day! I'm off at 7am to head to DC (so my next post is actually going to be interesting, I promise) Now I'm just packing and doing tons of laundry...I realized that two suitcases for 4 months is going to be hard to cope with...but I'll manage...I have also realized I have way too many shoes. Typical.

I loved getting comments yesterday, so keep it up friends! Keep me in your prayers too; I'm both excited and nervous to get started, and I need all the support I can get! :-)

So Sooooooon

So I'm leaving in like, 9 days...and hopefully the next time I post I'll have something legitimately interesting to write about...

I'm extremley excited to be leaving...I'm going to miss home a lot though I think so I hope everyone keeps in touch with me while I'm gone. I know only a few of you have actually read this since I don't think I've told a lot of you the address yet...so I better get some more comments after I send out my email!! (right now the sole purpose of this blog is to keep me entertained for the next week or so)

Political sidenote: did anyone see the South Carolina democratic debates last night? Holy crap, I thought I was watching like, the WWE or something. I can't believe Hillary and Obama got into it that badly. Geez.

Passing the Time

So I have less than three weeks until I leave for the big city, so needless to say its been pretty dull around here. Hanging out with the fam only lasts blissfully for so long...so to help me survive Elizabeth, Karen and Michael came to keep me company! These three had never been to the STL before and I wanted to make sure they had a stellar time...so we went to as many places as we could cram in three days. It was also Michael's 21st birthday, so of course we had to celebrate that too!!!!

The Countdown

Hello everyone! I decided that the best way to keep in touch with all of you while I'm conquering Washington DC was to create my own blog...so here it is! I'm sure this will also be used to publish my opinions on the current political happenings as well...so enjoy!

I leave in about 22 days (on the 31st) and I can't be more excited! Right now my life revolves around shopping for a new wardrobe (which is so much fun) for my internship at the Republican National Committe! I cannot wait to start working there. I am going to be interning in their legal department, which I hope gives me some good experience for any future law careers I might pursue...so stay tuned for my many stories!

Oh and p.s....everyone living in MO, your election primary is Tuesday Feb. 5th....VOTE!
